WEB DESK: Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s choice to remain in Montecito, United States (US) while her husband Prince Harry embarks on a three-day visit to the United Kingdom (UK) sparked quite a debate online.

While her husband travels across the pond back to his homeland, Meghan was seen attending an exclusive networking event in Montecito. Despite criticism suggesting her decision may affect Prince Harry’s trip, Meghan, it seems, is prioritising her professional career.

After facing public criticism and professional setbacks in 2023, it seems Meghan Markle has focused on rebranding herself this year. The former actress was dropped from Spotify and had to endure derogatory remarks from fans of the British Royal family and the wider British public.

However, this year seems to be looking up for the Duchess of Sussex. She launched a lifestyle brand and is reportedly working on a Netflix cooking and gardening show.

Many have debated Meghan Markle’s decision to refrain from publicly discussing the royal family, especially considering the quieter nature of her recent projects.

Meghan’s decision to stay home during Prince Harry’s UK trip was met with mixed reactions. Some view it as a “wise” move to avoid negative press and public reception. Others have speculated about its impact on her relationship with the royal family.

The former “Suits” actress has had limited interaction with the Royal family since the Sussexes’ decision to relocate to the US. While Harry flew back after King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer, the Sussex Duchess chose to remain tight-lipped and stay in her homeland.

She applied the same strategy when Kate Middleton’s cancer was finally reported after much denying by Buckingham Palace. Meghan even refused to attend Charles’ coronation as the British monarch.

However, she did attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral while keeping a very low profile.
