Mehreen Ali stars as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in 1st Blind Women’s T20 CWC

COLOMBO: Mehreen Ali led Pakistan Blind Women’s team to a commanding 211-run victory over Sri Lanka in the opening match of the 1st Blind Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup at the BOI Cricket Ground.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka chose to bowl first, but Pakistan’s openers dominated the innings from the start. Mehreen Ali scored an unbeaten 230 off 78 balls, while Hooria Malik added a powerful 69 not out off 49 balls, helping Pakistan post a record-breaking 331 runs without losing a wicket, setting a new world record in any international T20 format for Blind Women’s cricket.

Chasing the massive total, Sri Lanka managed only 120 runs in 20 overs. Noor Fatima, Hooria Malik, and Sumera Malik took one wicket each, while Mehreen Ali was named Player of the Match for her extraordinary performance.
After the match, Mehreen Ali dedicated her record-breaking innings to Pakistan and her parents, thanking the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council for supporting her career.
