ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a nationwide alert for heavy winds and rain until March 31, warning of potential stormy weather conditions across the country.
In Karachi, the current weather remains hot and dry, contrasting with the cooler, rain-sprinkled mornings experienced in Lahore, where the climate has turned pleasantly mild.
The Meteorological Department’s forecast extends the expectation of heavy winds and rain nationwide until March 31, prompting the issuance of an alert.
Anticipated weather patterns indicate a procession of western winds making their way into the western regions of the country, progressively enveloping upper and central areas by Thursday. This atmospheric phenomenon is projected to sustain cloud cover over sixteen districts of Balochistan until March 29.

Further forecasts for March 28 and 29 anticipate the arrival of heavy winds and thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall in regions including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, and Dadu.
Moreover, rain showers are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Murree, and the Galiyat. These weather conditions extend across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. However, the possibility of landslides in hilly areas, particularly in Murree, remains a concern.
The alert issued by the Meteorological Department serves as a precautionary measure, urging citizens to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety amid the anticipated inclement weather.
