Met Office predicts rain, dust-thunderstorms in several parts of country

ISLAMABAD: Several regions of Pakistan will see fresh rainfall along with dust-thunderstorms during the next two to four hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted on Monday afternoon.

According to the latest weather update by PMD, isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, northeast Punjab, southeast Sindh, and parts of Kashmir are expected to receive rainfall with gusty winds and thunderstorms.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas including Swat, Kalam, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Dir, Kohistan, Buner, Shangla, Kurram, Kohat, and Waziristan are likely to witness dust-thunderstorms with rain.

The weather system may also affect northeast Balochistan, including Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Mastung, Qalat, and Khuzdar.

Several districts of northeast Punjab, including Sialkot, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanewal, Toba Tek Singh, Dera Ismail Khan, and Rajanpur, are also expected to experience similar weather conditions.

Meanwhile, parts of southeast Sindh, including Larkana, Jacobabad, Naushahro Feroze, Ghotki, and Kashmore, along with Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and adjoining areas of Kashmir, may receive rain with dust-thunderstorms.

The PMD has advised citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the prevailing weather conditions and stay updated through official weather alerts.
