Miley, Selena to release new single on same day

miley and selena

LOS ANGELES: It’s a blast from the past as former Disney stars Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez create a buzz among millennials. The duo took to Instagram Stories to reveal a surprise for fans – both are dropping new music on August 25.

Gomez, 31, shared the news with a nostalgic twist, referencing their early years together, stating, “We have been friends since we USED TO BE YOUNG. Excited for August 25th!” The post featured a clip from Gomez’s appearance on Cyrus’ show “Hannah Montana,” reviving memories of their Disney channel days.

Cyrus, 30, responded with humor, joking about the coincidence and their shared history, while also promoting the track “Used to be Young.”

Both artists have maintained their connection beyond their Disney fame. In 2020, Gomez revealed her bipolar disorder diagnosis to Cyrus during an Instagram chat, and spoke on the importance of supporting one another. The duo’s friendship is known for having survived the Disney child-star era which saw many celebrity cautionary tales. Both Cyrus and Gomez, however, came out of the other end with relative success.

This upcoming musical double feature is bound to stir up excitement and nostalgia among fans who have been eagerly awaiting new tunes from these beloved stars.
