Militant Salim Baloch’s death exposes Fitna al-Hindustan’s ‘missing persons’ cover

WEB DESK: The recent death of militant Salim Baloch in Balochistan has highlighted the link between the India-backed group Fitna al-Hindustan and the misleading “missing persons” narrative propagated by certain organisations, Pakistani security analysts say.

According to intelligence reports, Salim Baloch, listed among so-called missing persons, was involved in tattacks in Balochistan on January 31. Fitna al-Hindustan and affiliated social media accounts confirmed his death, stating that he was killed in Turbat while fighting security forces.

Experts note that Salim Baloch’s name, like those of other militants previously killed in Mastung, Quetta, and Gwadar, had repeatedly appeared on lists maintained by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), Mahrang Baloch, and other ‘human rights’ groups. They allege that these lists were used to portray active terrorists as victims, creating a misleading narrative to justify their violent actions.

Specialists feel that BYC exploits the sense of deprivation among youth, pushing them towards militant activity and ultimately handing them over to Fitna al-Hindustan for armed rebellion and terrorism. Analysts also point out that the committee receives backing from India’s RAW agency and affiliated “human rights” organisations.

The elimination of Salim Baloch and other militants listed as missing persons demonstrates that the narrative is baseless propaganda, shielding terrorist operations under the guise of human rights advocacy, experts concluded.
