‘Missing’ Pakistani couple found dead in Iran

QUETTA: In a disturbing turn of events a Pakistani couple reported missing for two weeks, Hani Baloch and her husband Sameer Baloch, has been found dead in Iran.
The couple was reportedly abducted by masked individuals in two vehicles from the Mahammad Abad area of Iranshahr city, located in Sistan-va-Baluchestan province of Iran.
The alleged abduction took place shortly after Sameer’s brother, Rauf Baloch, a teacher, was shot and killed by unidentified motorcyclists in what is alleged to be a blasphemy case in the Malik Abad area of Turbat city in Balochistan, Pakistan.
The bodies of the couple bear signs of torture and acid burns, according to sources.

This is not the first time that the family lost contact with Hani. According to her family members, she had gone missing from Karachi in mysterious circumstance in the past too, along with her then-fiancé.
Despite the gravity of the situation, neither rights organizations nor the Pakistani foreign ministry or the Pakistan mission in Iran, has issued any statement or comments regarding the deaths of the Pakistani couple in Iran.
