Mohammad Hafeez appointed new director of Pakistan cricket team


LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former Test captain Mohammad Hafeez as the Director of the Pakistan men’s side. This decision comes in the wake of the PCB’s decision to part ways with the entire coaching staff, including director Mickey Arthur, head coach Grant Bradburn, and batting coach Andrew Puttick.

While the dismissed coaches will still contribute their expertise at the National Cricket Academy, the PCB is set to unveil a new coaching lineup for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding the fresh coaching staff.

 PCB on Wednesday revealed the appointed captains for white and red-ball cricket, following the resignation of the former skipper Babar Azam on the same day. Shan Masood, a left-handed batsman, is set to lead the Test cricket team, while the responsibility for the shorter format will be shouldered by the left-arm pacer, Shaheen Afridi.
