Mohammad Rizwan likely to be appointed as Pakistan T20I team vice-captain

ISLAMABAD: Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is poised to take on a significant role in the national T20I squad, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly considering him for the vice-captaincy.

Rizwan previously served as vice-captain during Shaheen Afridi’s tenure as skipper last year.

However, the PCB has postponed the announcement of the vice-captaincy following Babar Azam’s recent reinstatement as the white-ball team’s captain.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi expressed a preference for Mohammad Rizwan over left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi as the captain of the T20 team.
