ISLAMABAD: In a surprise visit to Islamabad International Airport, Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi took direct action on Saturday to address passenger grievances and announced a strict crackdown on fraudulent visa agents exploiting citizens.
The minister personally met with travelers destined for international flights to hear their concerns firsthand. During these interactions, he took serious notice of a specific complaint dated November 7 regarding insufficient staffing at immigration counters, which was causing delays. Minister Naqvi immediately ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter, including a comprehensive review of all relevant CCTV footage from that period to identify the lapse.
Outlining a clear policy, the minister declared that no passenger with genuine and complete documentation would be unjustly prevented from traveling. However, he issued a stern warning that individuals attempting to travel on fake or unverified documents would be stopped unconditionally, as such actions severely damage Pakistan’s international reputation.
“Agent mafias playing with people’s futures for money will face zero tolerance,” Naqvi stated, vowing to dismantle the networks that defraud innocent citizens. The visit signals the minister’s hands-on approach to reforming immigration processes and protecting travelers from predatory practices.
