Mohsin Naqvi reaches UK to discuss return of Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja

LONDON: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has arrived in the United Kingdom, where he is scheduled to meet officials from the British Foreign Office to discuss the extradition of several Pakistani nationals. The minister is on a three-day visit and will also attend the launch event of the upcoming PSL season at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.

According to media reports, Mohsin Naqvi is expected to hold detailed discussions with British officials regarding the extradition of certain Pakistani citizens. Pakistan has already submitted evidence related to the wanted individuals to the British High Commissioner. However, British sources indicate that the dossier has not yet reached the UK authorities.

It is worth noting that two days ago, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, met with the Interior Minister in Islamabad to discuss Pakistan-UK relations, security cooperation, and the repatriation of Pakistanis residing illegally in the UK. During that meeting, Pakistan handed over the extradition documents for Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja to the High Commissioner.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said he supports the right to freedom of expression, but fake news is a challenge for every country. He added that those spreading fake news from abroad through social media will soon be brought back to Pakistan and face legal action.
