WEB DESK: Cold and partly cloudy weather is expected to dominate most parts of the country on Monday, while light rain and snowfall are forecast for several northern regions, according to the weather outlook by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Going region by region, the PMD said that the federal capital Islamabad, and its surrounding areas, are likely to experience cold and partly cloudy conditions throughout the day.
Across Punjab, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts. However, light drizzle may occur at a few locations, including Narowal, Sialkot, Jhelum and nearby areas. The hill stations of Murree and Galiyat are likely to remain cold and partly cloudy, with chances of light rain or snowfall. Morning hours may also see light to moderate fog in Sialkot, Narowal and surrounding regions, which could affect visibility and traffic flow.
In Sindh, cold and dry weather is forecast for most districts, with no significant rainfall expected.
Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to experience cold and dry conditions in most areas. However, light rain or snowfall is likely at a few places in upper districts, including Chitral, Dir, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Kalam, Swat, Parachinar and Waziristan.
In Balochistan, the weather is expected to remain cold and partly cloudy across most districts, with generally stable conditions.
The northern regions are expected to be the coldest. Kashmir will likely experience very cold and partly cloudy weather, with a possibility of rain or snowfall. Gilgit-Baltistan is also forecast to remain very cold, with partly cloudy skies and chances of rain or snowfall at some locations.
Authorities have advised residents, particularly in hilly and northern areas, to take precautionary measures due to cold temperatures and possible fog or snowfall that may disrupt travel.
