
Moonis declared ‘absconder’ in money laundering case

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Moonis Elahi has been declared an ‘absconder’ in a money laundering case.
According to details, Sessions Court declared Moonis, son of former Punjab chief minister President Pervaiz Elahi an ‘absconder’ due to his continued non-appearance after fleeing the country.
Moonis has been booked in two money laundering cases. He is accused of illegally smuggling billions of rupees out of the country while the other case has been registered by Anti-Corruption Circle Punjab.
A challan has been submitted against Elahi and 3 others accused.
The court also initiated process to block Identity card and passport of the accused besides freezing of his bank accounts and property.
