More than 30 shops gutted in Karachi fire

KARACHI: More than 30 shops have been gutted in a fire at a furniture market in the Gulistan Johar area of Karachi in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

According to fire brigade officials, fire erupted in a furniture market near Kamran Chorangi, initially one fire tender was sent to douse of the fire.

However, the fire quickly spread to other market areas and gained intensity, and flames were visible from a distance.

Officials said that the fire was eventually extinguished with the help of six fire tenders.

According to the firefighters, more than 30 shops have been gutted, but the cause of the fire has not been ascertained so far.

Luckily, no loss of life was reported in the incident.

The fire in Karachi shops has incurred a huge loss to the owners.

Shopkeepers and local residents managed to save some furniture by removing it from the shops engulfed in flames.
