Motorway M5 closed due to intense fog

ISLAMABAD: The National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) closed down M5 motorway for commuters due to intense fog on Wednesday.

According to the NH&MP, the M5 motorway is closed to commuters from Sher Shah to Uch Sharif.

Earlier, different part of Lahore received rain early in the morning on Wednesday following a sudden appearance of fog the previous night. The unexpected fog led to significantly low visibility and disrupted traffic in various regions of the city.

Similarly, heavy rainfall was reported in Leepa Valley, located in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The rain was followed by substantial snowfall in the surrounding mountains. According to sources, over two feet of snow was recorded in the valley.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi also experienced significant rainfall with intermittent hail in some regions on Wednesday. Faizabad, Islamabad Expressway, G6, F7, Bahria Town, and other areas of the twin cities experienced rain around 5:30 in the evening.
