Pakistani players maintained their strong form on Day 2 of the IBSF Snooker World Cup 2025 in Muscat, Oman, with Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Hasnain, and Asjad Iqbal all recording victories in their group matches.
Muhammad Asif dominated Indonesia’s Gebby Putra 3-0 in his opening match, taking the frames 78-38, 73-6, and 89-19. He followed up with another commanding performance against Oman’s Qasim Al Balushi, winning 3-0 (80-1, 75-31, 83-3), marking his second consecutive win in the tournament.
Muhammad Hasnain Akhtar also started strongly, defeating Jordan’s Samer Althaher 3-0 (69-0, 80-0, 67-6). However, his winning run ended in the third group match, where Iran’s Ali Gharahgozlou defeated him 3-1 (71-27, 1-74, 96-4, 61-47).
Pakistan’s third participant, Asjad Iqbal, showcased his skills with a 3-0 victory over Fred Wagner of Luxembourg, taking the frames 74-32, 83-7, and 124-14.
With these results, Pakistani cueists have set a strong tone in the early stages of the competition, keeping their hopes alive for the knockout rounds.
