ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Hasnain made history on Friday by clinching the title at the IBSF World Under-17 Snooker Championship 2025, becoming the latest Pakistani to shine on the global snooker stage.

In the final held in Manama, Bahrain, Hasnain delivered a commanding performance, defeating Wales’ Riley Powell 4-0 in a one-sided contest to lift the trophy.

From the outset, Hasnain showcased exceptional skill and composure, denying his opponent any real chance to recover throughout the match.

Earlier in the tournament, the young Pakistani cueist dominated the knockout rounds with equal authority.

He defeated Poland’s Oliwier Nezalek 4-0 in the semi-final, outclassed another Polish player, Krzysztof Chlapek, 3-1 in the quarter-final, and overcame Oman’s Moatasem Al-Saadi 3-0 in the pre-quarterfinals.

Hasnain’s victory not only has add to Pakistan’s growing legacy in the world of snooker but also strengthened hopes for Pakistan’s snooker champion Mohammad Asif to take on India’s Brijesh Damani in the final of the IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship.

The action will continue tomorrow as the IBSF World Masters tournament shifts focus to the Under-21 competitions. All eyes will be on Pakistan’s rising star Ahsan Ramzan as he looks to make his mark and bring home another title for the country.
