Multan Sultans bag first win of PSL 10 by beating Lahore Qalandars

MULTAN: Multan Sultans bagged first win of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 with a dominant 33-run victory over Lahore Qalandars, defending a massive target of 229 in a high-scoring contest.

Batting first, Multan Sultans posted a formidable 228-4 in their 20 overs, powered by an explosive 87 off 44 balls from Yasir Khan.

He was well supported by Iftikhar Ahmed, who smashed 40 runs, while Usman Khan contributed 39 and skipper Mohammad Rizwan chipped in with 32.

Ashton Turner (15), Michael Bracewell (9) and Kamran Ghulam (3) added brief cameos.

Among the bowlers, Rishad Hossain stood out for Lahore Qalandars with 2 wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Asif Afridi and Sikandar Raza took one apiece.

In reply, Lahore Qalandars fell short despite a fighting 50-run knock from Sikandar Raza.

Sam Billings scored 43, Fakhar Zaman added 32, and Daryl Mitchell made 19. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to deliver under pressure.

Abdullah Shafique (18), Mohammad Naeem (11), Asif Afridi (4), and Rishad Hossain (2) couldn’t provide the momentum needed, as Lahore Qalandars finished on 195-8 in their 20 overs.

The win marks Multan Sultans’ first of the tournament and sets the tone for their PSL 10 campaign.
