KARACHI: Multan Sultans vs Islamabad United saw the 2021 champions post a commanding total of 192-6 after being put into bat first in the 40th match of PSL 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Vice-captain Shan Masood anchored the innings with a composed knock in the middle overs, providing stability after early wickets, before Arafat Minhas delivered a late surge to lift the score well past the 190 mark.

Shan’s steady contribution laid the foundation, but it was the late partnership that truly shifted momentum in Multan’s favour.

With the scoreboard reading 136-6 in 16.3 overs, Arafat Minhas unleashed a powerful 31-run cameo off just 19 balls, striking four boundaries including three towering sixes.

He was well supported by Mohammad Wasim Jr, who smashed an unbeaten 26 off just nine deliveries, as the pair added 55 crucial runs in the final overs.

For the United, the bowling effort was evenly spread, with Chris Green, Mirza, Irshad, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, and captain Shadab Khan all taking a wicket each, but they were unable to contain the late-innings acceleration that pushed Multan Sultans to a strong defending total.
