Multiple PTI officials submit resignations to senior party leadership

PTI resignations

PESHAWAR: Several senior officials of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party have submitted their resignations to the leadership following the issuance of show cause notices for failing to mobilise the required number of workers for a rally in Peshawar earlier this month.

On December 7, PTI held a rally at the Hayatabad Sports Complex in Peshawar. However, according to internal party assessments, the turnout fell short of expectations, prompting the leadership to issue show cause notices to 25 members of the district organisation.

The notices were issued after the district officials reportedly failed to bring the mandated number of workers to the rally.

The show cause notices cited the district officials’ failure to effectively implement party instructions and mobilise supporters for the event. PTI’s central leadership has demanded written responses from the concerned officials within three days. The party also warned that disciplinary action would be taken if the officials failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the poor turnout.

Insider reports said that, in response to the notices, several district officials have already tendered their resignations to PTI leadership, signaling dissatisfaction with the handling of the situation.

The development marks a tense moment within PTI as the party navigates internal challenges and attempts to maintain organisational discipline. The outcome of the resignations and any further disciplinary measures will likely be a key point of discussion in the coming days as PTI looks to strengthen its position in the run-up to upcoming political events.
