My family has been attacked, claims Barrister Gohar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Ali Gohar has reported an attack on his family during the hearing of the PTI bat case.

The Suprem Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa resumed hearing on PTI regarding the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) appeal against the Peshawar High Court (PHC) verdict restoring the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) electoral symbol — bat.

Barrister Gohar informed the courtroom that he recently discovered that individuals had entered his house, assaulted his son and nephew, and seized his computer.

Consequently, he requested to excuse himself from the proceedings and promptly left.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) inquired from the additional Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP), expressing concern over the incident, stating that if such an event occurred, it should not have taken place.

ISLAMABAD POLICE CLARIFIES

Islamabad Police has provided a clarification, stating that their presence at Barrister Ali Gohar’s house was part of a search operation for criminals reportedly hiding in the vicinity.

Contrary to initial reports, the police claim that upon realizing it was the residence of Barrister Ali Gohar, they departed without any altercation.

According to the police spokesperson, no individuals were attacked, and nothing was taken during the operation.

The clarification from Islamabad Police aims to address any misconceptions regarding the incident at Barrister Ali Gohar’s house.
