Naan, roti being sold at record high prices in Lahore

LAHORE: Naan and roti are reaching record high prices in Lahore, with reports indicating that a Rs25 naan is now being sold for Rs40. Additionally, the cost of a simple roti has surged to Rs25 from its usual Rs12.

It is crucial to acknowledge that gas load shedding and low pressure are prevalent issues during the winter. Cooking, being both a necessity and a compulsion, is significantly impacted.

However, inflation has spared no one. Citizens are compelled to resort to alternative fuels or purchase bread from the market due to gas load shedding. Simultaneously, shopkeepers exploit people’s compulsions, charging arbitrary prices.
