LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has concluded its preliminary investigation into alleged assets exceeding declared income of Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Gogi and her husband Ahsan Jameel Gujjar.
The NAB’s three-member investigation team has submitted a comprehensive report on the financial holdings of Farah Gogi and Jameel Gujjar to the NAB Lahore director-general.
The report has found inconsistencies between the declared income and accumulated assets of Farah Gogi and Jameel Gujjar.
Records from the bank accounts of Farah Gogi and Jameel Gujjar, as well as information from the Federal Board of Revenue, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and 33 deputy commissioners from various Punjab districts, have been gathered by the NAB.

Responses from the deputy commissioners regarding the records have also been included in the report, along with detailed information about the properties owned by Farah Gogi and Ahsan Jameel.
The report has recommended converting the inquiry into investigation.
On the other hand, Farah Gogi’s legal representative contended that NAB lacks the authority to conduct an inquiry against her, asserting that it violates the NAB law.
The representative further claimed that Farah Gogi, having never held a public office, is exempt from such investigations.
