Naila Raja opens up about wedding to Imad Wasim

ISLAMABAD: Social media influencer Naila Raja has explained her reasons for marrying Pakistan cricket team’s former all-rounder Imad Wasim, following their wedding on February 16.

In a post shared online, Naila said she would welcome Imad’s children with an open heart if he were to reunite with them, describing her stance as “the truth” despite past criticism.

Her comments prompted a mixed reaction from internet users, with some questioning her decision and others warning about trust in relationships.

Imad Wasim had confirmed his marriage to Naila Raja on February 16 via Instagram, posting a detailed message about his past life, his children, and his previous marriage.

He wrote that he had tried for a long time to make his previous relationship work, acknowledging delays and mistakes in his decisions.

The announcement reignited controversy over his personal life.

Imad’s first wife, Sania Ashfaq, alleged that he had arranged an abortion for their child in December 2023, calling him a “deceiver” and urging a boycott of Islamabad United, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise he plays for, for giving him opportunities despite the allegations.

Naila Raja’s name had first gone viral due to rumors of an alleged relationship with Imad, which both parties denied at the time.

The rumours coincided with the birth of Imad and Sania’s third child, during which Sania publicly criticized Imad for not being present at the birth.

Naila had previously dismissed all speculations, describing her interactions with Imad as “fan moments.”

Those fan moments, she now revealed, have turned into wedding photos, marking a surprising turn in the high-profile saga that has drawn widespread attention on social media.
It is worth noting that in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Islamabad United had acquired Imad Wasim for RS22 million.

Following Imad Wasim’s confirmation of his marriage, his former wife has called for a boycott of Islamabad United, using the hashtag #BoycottIslamabadUnited on social media.
