WEB DESK: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has briefed the US Charge d’Affaires during his visit to the US Embassy on comprehensive security arrangements ahead of the anticipated arrival of American negotiators for the next round of US-Iran talks in the Pakistani capital.

Naqvi met Natalie A. Baker at the US Embassy, where he assured her that special security measures had been put in place for all visiting dignitaries, describing the American officials as “special guests” of Pakistan, according to the Interior Ministry.

Massive security deployment in capital

Around 20,000 policemen and personnel from other law enforcement agencies have been deployed across Islamabad to ensure the safety of the high-level talks.

Reports also suggest that an American advance security team has already arrived in the city.

The heightened security reflects Pakistan’s commitment to providing a secure environment for the sensitive diplomatic engagement amid ongoing regional tensions.

Trump announces arrival of US team
