Nation celebrates 149th birthday of Quaid-e-Azam today; President, PM issue tributes

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: The 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan, is being observed across the country today (Thursday) with solemn ceremonies, official tributes, and renewed pledges to uphold his vision of a democratic, just, and inclusive state.

PRESIDENT ZARDARI REITERATES DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES

In his message on the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari said the nation renews its commitment to the democratic and inclusive values laid down by the Quaid-e-Azam. He added that the leadership, vision, and guiding principles of Muhammad Ali Jinnah continue to provide clear guidance in addressing the challenges faced by the country.

The President also noted that the principles of democracy, justice, and equality form an integral part of Pakistan’s national journey and should continue to guide state institutions and decision-making processes. He urged all Pakistanis, particularly the youth, to adhere to the ideals of the founder of the nation.

PM SHARIF SPEAKS ON RELIGIOUS HARMONY

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in his message, paid heartfelt tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 149th birth anniversary. He said the day serves as an opportunity for the entire nation to renew its commitment to the vision and principles of the founder of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister stressed that the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam must be effectively implemented at the national level. He highlighted that Quaid-e-Azam promoted religious harmony within the state system and taught the values of tolerance, justice, and unity. The Prime Minister said that faith, unity, and discipline remain the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam and the foundation of a strong and prosperous Pakistan.

CHANGE OF GUARDS CEREMONY

Meanwhile, a dignified ceremony of changing of guards was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in Karachi. A smart and agile contingent of the Pakistan Army’s Hawk unit assumed guard duties, while a contingent of the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul performed ceremonial responsibilities. Major General Iftikhar Hassan Chaudhry, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), attended the ceremony as the special guest.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the progress, stability, and prosperity of the country, as the nation paid homage to the Father of the Nation.
