National leadership extends Eid greetings, calls for unity and solidarity

Pakistan’s top leadership on Eidul Fitr extended greetings to the nation and Muslims around the world, using the occasion to stress unity, compassion and collective responsibility as the region remains gripped by conflict and uncertainty.

In separate messages, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the public on Eid and highlighted the spiritual lessons of Ramadan, including patience, sacrifice, piety and service to others. Their statements also carried a strong message of solidarity with Muslims facing hardship, especially those affected by the conflict in Gaza and the wider Middle East.

Leadership stresses unity, service and shared responsibility

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Eidul Fitr was a blessed occasion that reflected Allah’s mercy and immense grace. He said the festival revives the values of sacrifice, unity, service to humanity and collective responsibility.

The prime minister said Pakistan’s thoughts were also with the people suffering in Gaza and across the Middle East. He described their pain as a stark reminder that the Muslim world urgently needs greater unity. At a time when the world is facing disorder and instability, he said, the greatest strength of Muslims lies in their solidarity.

President Asif Ali Zardari also congratulated the nation on the joyous occasion of Eidul Fitr and urged people to carry forward the spirit of patience and piety cultivated during Ramadan. He said Eid is the reward for a month marked by worship, self-restraint, devotion and sacrifice.

Naqvi pays tribute to martyrs, urges support for those in hardship

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also extended Eid greetings to the nation, saying the day reminds Muslims of the patience, piety and selflessness taught by Ramadan. He said Eid also carries a message to remember those in need and to ensure they are not forgotten during celebrations.

Naqvi paid tribute to the country’s martyrs, saying the nation salutes their immense sacrifices on this occasion. He said the people of Pakistan would always remember the enduring sacrifices made by the martyrs and their families. He also praised the country’s defenders for protecting the borders and safeguarding the homeland.

The interior minister said the Muslim Ummah needs unity, agreement and solidarity today more than perhaps ever before. He urged people to remember in their prayers all Muslims facing hardship and trials. He also prayed that Allah help the oppressed and bless the Muslim world with unity and steadfastness.

Taken together, the Eid messages from Pakistan’s civilian leadership combined celebration with reflection, linking the joy of the festival to a wider call for national cohesion, moral renewal and Muslim solidarity in a troubled time.
