Nationwide dry spell expected on Monday, with cold weather up north

WEB DESK: Most parts of the country are expected to remain dry on Monday, while colder conditions will persist in the hilly regions, particularly during the morning and night hours. According to the latest forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), smog will continue to affect the plains of Punjab, with light fog likely to appear in a few areas early in the day and after sunset.

In Islamabad, the weather is predicted to stay dry throughout the day. The federal capital and surrounding areas will experience noticeably cold conditions during the morning and night.

Dry weather will prevail across most districts of Punjab on Monday. Murree, Galiyat, and nearby hilly areas may see partly cloudy skies along with cold weather. Smog is expected to persist in the plains, while light fog could develop at select locations during morning and nighttime hours.

Sindh is likely to experience dry weather across the province, with no significant changes expected in temperature or cloud cover.

Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are forecast to remain dry on Monday. Hilly regions may experience partly cloudy conditions and cold temperatures, especially during the morning and night.

Dry weather is expected over most of Balochistan. Northern districts, however, are likely to face cold to very cold conditions, particularly during early morning and nighttime hours.

Kashmir is forecast to remain partly cloudy on Monday, with cold to very cold conditions expected, especially during the morning and night.

Gilgit-Baltistan will also see partly cloudy skies paired with cold to very cold temperatures, mainly in the early and late hours of the day.

Authorities have advised residents in smog-affected areas to take precautionary measures, particularly during early morning commutes, as visibility may be reduced.
