ISLAMABAD: Technical issues within the nationwide passport office system on Wednesday caused significant distress among citizens, according to reliable sources.

The reported glitch impacted the connection between the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the passport offices, resulting in an inability to upload applicant data. This disruption resulted in substantial delays for individuals seeking passport services, particularly after undergoing photo and biometric procedures.

Issuance of 100-page passports temporarily suspended

Sources have indicated that passport office operations across the country came to a standstill for over two hours due to the technical problems.

Following the eventual restoration of the system, the processing of passport applications resumed.

The extended delays created considerable inconvenience for citizens, as passport offices typically close at 1:30 PM, necessitating them to return on the following day.
