LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has said that the 2018 elections were marred by extensive rigging and manipulation, depriving the nation of progress and happiness.
Speaking to party members in his Lahore constituency on Wednesday, he underlined that the culprits behind Nawaz Sharif’s mistreatment were well known, and despite all adversities, Nawaz Sharif’s return is not motivated by a desire for revenge.
He stated, “God willing, Nawaz Sharif will return on October 21, and upon his return, he will set the country on a path to progress once again. Nawaz Sharif was not removed from power; rather, the advancement and contentment of the people were halted. I urge you to extend a warm welcome to Nawaz Sharif on October 21 and convey to him that he was mistreated. As a dedicated worker of Nawaz Sharif, I am committed to doing everything in my power to support him.”

Shehbaz remarked, “I find myself in my constituency, where I have been honoured with respect since 2013, and I cannot express my gratitude enough. You have consistently lent your support to the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and exercised your voting rights with dignity. In 2013, Nawaz Sharif successfully put an end to the crippling 20-hour load shedding. In a mere four years, he effectively eradicated the issue of load-shedding.”
Highlighting Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, the PML-N president emphasized that Nawaz Sharif conducted atomic tests in response to India’s nuclear tests, and defied repeated phone calls from former US president Bill Clinton.
“During his tenure, inflation was nearly nonexistent. Nawaz Sharif’s ‘sin’ was making Pakistan to a nuclear power and ensuring the welfare of its citizens,” he added.
