ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has altered his planned trip to London due to the ongoing issue surrounding a proposed constitutional amendment.
The National Assembly and Senate sessions were prorogued earlier after the government faced hurdles in securing support for the proposed constitutional amendment.
Earlier reports suggested that Nawaz Sharif would travel to London this week, but he has chosen to remain in the country until the uncertainty regarding the constitutional amendment bill is resolved.
According to officials, the PML-N president intends to depart for London and then to the United States.

The constitutional amendment would have been introduced in September, but the government failed to secure the required votes from parliamentarians. However, sources say the necessary votes will be secured by next week.
