Nawaz Sharif promises to reverse inflation, unemployment

Nawaz Sharif

MULTAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that he would do away with inflation and unemployment if he was voted to power once again.

Addressing an rally in Burewala, he said that “I am meeting you people after a long time. I was sad not to meet you people for so many years. I am very happy to meet you people again after so long.”

He said that “I remember the time when bread (roti) was available for Rs4 rupees. Today roti is available for Rs25. This was the so-called change, which led to the price hike of everything.”

He said that “we had ended electricity load-shedding and people would receive Rs500 electricity bill on average, which has now ballooned to Rs20,000. Today, bread, ghee, sugar, flour everything has become expensive,” he said.

He promised that “if voted to power, the PML-N would overcome and wipe out inflation, electricity, bread, gas and other things will be made available in every house.”

Addressing the youth, Nawaz Sharif asked “how many of you are there who do not have employment? This is a very sad thing. If I was not removed, if my government was not terminated for not taking salary from my son, then no youth here would have been unemployed, everyone would have been happy, jobs would have been in every house.”

The former prime minister criticized his opponents and said that “this was the gang that struck an axe on the body of Pakistan.”

Nawaz Sharif recounted that “during the tenure of his government urea was available for Rs1200 which was now available for Rs5,000, this is the result of change. During my era, tractor was priced at Rs0.9 million which is now available for Rs3.8 million but we will bring Pakistan back from inflation and unemployment and make the situation here so good that there will be best employment in every house.”

He said that a highway will be built in Burewala and it is quite possible that an airport will also be built. He further said that if Tehmina Daultana succeeds from there, then “we will also give a medical college to Burewala.”

The former premier said that “God willing, Burewala will also be made a district.”

Addressing the rally, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said that “I have come here for the first time but as you have welcomed us, thank you all.”

She said that “whoever are the candidate of the PML-N from Burewala, vote for them all so that we can all serve you day and night.”

She further said that nowadays all the opposition parties are coming to Punjab and asking for votes but they are having trouble holding rallies because wherever they hold rallies, they see only PML-N’s projects everywhere. She said that “we do not need to publicize our projects in Burewala because you all know, if there is any noteworthy project in the country, only and only Nawaz Sharif’s name is written in it.”

She said only the PML-N is seeking votes on the basis of performance, the rest of the parties are just criticizing Nawaz Sharif?
