ISLAMABAD/LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief organiser Maryam Nawaz has provided insights into the much-discussed return of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to reporters in London, Maryam Nawaz expressed her sentiments regarding the recent meeting with her father, stating, “Meeting my father was a heartwarming experience.”

Nawaz Sharif, who has spent a significant period in exile, has expressed a strong desire to return to his homeland.

Maryam Nawaz shed light on his intentions, saying, “Nawaz Sharif is keen to stay in his own country.”

She said that “This sentiment underscores the deep connection Nawaz Sharif maintains with Pakistan, despite legal challenges and time spent abroad.”

With Nawaz Sharif’s imminent return, excitement within the ranks of the PML-N is palpable. Maryam Nawaz shared her party’s enthusiasm, stating, “We are very pleased that Nawaz Sharif is coming back to the country.”

Beyond the party lines, Nawaz Sharif’s return has generated substantial interest within the broader political spectrum, as it carries the potential for significant implications on the nation’s political landscape.

Speculation regarding Nawaz Sharif’s role upon his return has been rife. However, Maryam Nawaz appeared undisturbed by the conjecture, remarking, “We don’t pay much attention to rumours.” Instead, she emphasized the potential for Nawaz Sharif to effectively address the country’s challenges upon his return.

She said that “Nawaz Sharif is very happy about returning to the country.

“Nawaz Sharif will be the next prime minister of the country, and he can retrieve the country out of its current malaise,” she said.

Nawaz Sharif, having previously served as Pakistan’s prime minister for three terms, could play a pivotal role in the country’s political future. As he prepares to step back onto Pakistani soil, his return is being closely monitored not only by political adversaries but also by those who hope he can contribute to addressing pressing national issues.

PML-N leaders hold talks with Nawaz

Meanwhile, prominent leaders of the PML-N headed by party president Nawaz Sharif held a crucial meeting with Nawaz Sharif in London ahead of the party supremo’s return to Pakistan.

The gathering provided an opportunity for a candid exchange of views on the current political situation in the country, the party said in a tweet.

The meeting, which also saw the presence of Senator Ishaq Dar and Maryam Nawaz Sharif, marked an important moment in the ongoing political discourse within the PML-N.

Nawaz Sharif asserted that until all those involved in this conspiracy, regardless of their role, are brought to justice, Pakistan will continue to grapple with obstacles in its path to development and progress.
