LAHORE: Punjab has started implementation on a new schedule for driving license fees, impacting various vehicle categories.
The revised fee structure aims to streamline charges and bring about changes in the financial obligations for license holders.
According to the updated guidelines, motorcycle enthusiasts will now be subject to an annual fee of Rs 500. Meanwhile, motor car and jeep owners will face a yearly charge of Rs 1800 for their driving licenses.
In a bid to ease the burden on Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) operators, the fee for LTV licenses has been reduced to a flat rate of Rs 2,000 per annum. Similarly, operators of Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) will also benefit from a reduced annual fee of Rs 2,000.
Agricultural tractor owners will now be required to pay Rs 1,000 per annum for their driving licenses, while those utilizing tractors for commercial purposes will face a slightly higher fee of Rs 1,500 per year.
This adjustment in driving license fees is expected to impact a significant number of motorists across Punjab, as the region continues its efforts to enhance regulatory frameworks and financial transparency in the transportation sector.
