New Islamabad IG vows to combat drug smuggling as ‘Narco-Terrorism’

ISLAMABAD: Addressing the media on Wednesday, Inspector General of Police Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi said, “I perceive drug trafficking as a form of terrorism, and we will treat drugs as narco-terrorism.”

Rizvi also pledged to improve conditions for women visiting police stations, asserting, “I have never succumbed to political pressure, and I never will. Those who fail to meet the standards of the federal police will not be retained.”
He further stated, “Those found guilty of corruption within the police force will be held accountable.”
On a different note, IG Rizvi also announced the formation of a specialised task force comprising 100 officers dedicated to safeguarding Chinese citizens. – INP
