Nick Pasqual: ‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor learns fate after shocking attack case

Former actor Nick Pasqual is back in headlines after a California court reached a decision in a case that has attracted widespread attention since 2024.

Pasqual, who previously appeared in an episode of How I Met Your Mother, was sentenced to 32 years to life in prison after being convicted in the attempted murder of his former girlfriend, Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn.

The sentencing comes nearly two years after prosecutors accused Pasqual of breaking into Shehorn’s Los Angeles home and carrying out a violent knife attack.

According to reports from ABC7 and the Los Angeles Times, Shehorn survived despite suffering more than 20 stab wounds. Prosecutors said the attack took place in May 2024 and involved circumstances linked to domestic violence.

Court proceedings revealed that Shehorn had sought a restraining order against Pasqual before the stabbing. During the trial, she described an earlier violent confrontation that led to the end of their relationship.

“I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open,” Shehorn testified, according to ABC7. “I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.”

Reports also stated that Pasqual had previously been arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident involving Shehorn. He was released on $50,000 bail just five days before the stabbing occurred.

Shehorn is an established Hollywood makeup artist whose credits include Mean Girls, Rebel Moon and Babylon. During the trial, she reportedly appeared in court with visible scars from the attack.

While Pasqual’s acting career included only a handful of screen appearances, his connection to How I Met Your Mother has helped drive renewed interest in the case following the sentencing.

The sentence brings a close to one of Hollywood’s most disturbing recent domestic violence cases, nearly two years after the attack that left Shehorn fighting for her life.
