LAHORE: A spokesperson for Punjab Prisons has refuted any meeting between international representatives and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan in Adiala jail.
The denial comes after PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi claimed earlier that representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union regularly visit the PTI chairman in Adiala jail, where he is currently detained.
According to the Punjab Prisons’ spokesperson, the PTI chairman did not meet with representatives of the IMF and the European Union in Adiala jail.
The spokesperson rejected the statement made by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, calling it baseless, factually incorrect, and contradictory.
He firmly denied the occurrence of any meeting in Adiala jail, emphasizing that such an event did not take place and is not even a possibility.
Highlighting the separate cells of Imran Khan and Pervaiz Elahi within Adiala jail, the spokesperson clarified that both are held in separate locations with a distance exceeding 500 meters between their respective barracks.

The spokesperson said that even Pervaiz Elahi has never had a meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala jail.
The spokesperson asserted that only family members and lawyers have had access to the PTI chairman, and no other meetings have occurred.
To maintain transparency, the spokesperson said a detailed record of meetings with family and lawyers is consistently maintained.
“Adiala jail is equipped with over 300 CCTV cameras, ensuring the security of the premises. These cameras are under constant surveillance in the control room of the Inspector-General Punjab Prisons,” the spokesperson said.
