No notification regarding the extension of winter vacations in Punjab schools

LAHORE: News reports circulating on social media claim that winter vacations for Punjab schools have been extended due to the cold weather. However, no official notification regarding this extension has been issued by the provincial education department.

Despite the implementation of artificial rain and a Sunday holiday, Lahore was ranked as the most polluted city in the world on Sunday.

The alarming levels of smog and the increasing cold may prompt the Punjab government to consider extending winter holidays for Lahore and other cities in the province. However, as of now, there is no official announcement on this matter.

Winter vacations for all schools across Punjab commenced on December 18, 2023, and will continue until Thursday, January 1, 2024.
