No plans to impose additional duties on solar panels: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed on Tuesday that no new duties will be imposed on solar panels in Pakistan, ARY News reported.

“No new duty will be imposed on solar panels to ensure the common man’s access to renewable solar energy,” said PM.

He made these remarks while chairing the federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, during which key decisions were made.

The Prime Minister reiterated the resolve to boost the country’s exports by promoting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and withdrawing privileges from the elite class and those exploiting national resources.

In the meeting, it was also decided that the bidding process for the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will take place in the first week of August, aimed at generating crucial funds for the country’s economy.
