Noreen Niazi’s remarks spark public anger, claims Atta Tarar

WEB DESK: Information Minister Atta Tarar on Sunday claimed that remarks made by Noreen Niazi have sparked anger among the public, accusing her of making statements that provide “space and appreciation” in the Indian media.

Atta Tarar said such remarks were being used by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to revive its political standing, adding that politics should not be pursued at the cost of the country’s image.

“Understand that your politics has already been buried,” the minister said, criticising those he accused of attempting to gain political advantage through controversial statements.

He also alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was “enjoying a deep sleep” and said that opponents had failed to accept Pakistan’s achievements following the success of Marka-e-Haq.

“After Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan received recognition and appreciation across the world,” Atta Tarar said, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir were acknowledged internationally for their leadership.

The minister said the global community recognised Pakistan’s achievements and viewed the country’s leadership as victorious.

“The victory in Marka-e-Haq has not been digested by them,” he said, accusing political opponents of trying to damage Pakistan’s reputation for political gains.

Atta Tarar said that disrespecting the state for political purposes was unacceptable, saying that politics could only continue if Pakistan remained strong.

He further said Pakistan was moving towards progress and development, while the country’s achievements and success in Marka-e-Haq were being recognised internationally.
