ISLAMABAD: The Oil Tanker Contractors Assoc­iation (OTCA) has called off the nationwide strike after successful negations with the ministry of petroleum.

After the talks, Presidents OCTA Kara­chi and Islamabad/Rawa­lpindi Abidullah Afiridi and Noman A Butt said that “our demands have been accepted and we are not going on strike tomorrow.

He said that “the government has assured us of resolving all our issues.”

Afridi said that the rate for depot to depot transportation was low and we demand a 100% increase in these rates.

The oil tankers’ association leader Nauman Butt said that the government has agreed to the proposal of increasing the freight rate from 80 paisa per liter to 1.60 rupee

The government has suggested resolving the rates issue through dialogue, Butt said.
