RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders were not allowed to meet party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan in Adiala jail.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub exchanged hot words with jail officials after they were denied the meeting after over the two-hour wait. “Why is the meeting not being allowed?” he asked the jail officials.

Speaking to the media outside the jail, Omar Ayub said, “We were scheduled to meet the founder of PTI today and had been waiting since 1 o’clock, but Adiala jail authorities did not allow the meeting.”
He added that the jail post in charge also expelled them from the mosque, citing orders. “Our meeting was scheduled according to court orders,” Ayub stated.
He reaffirmed PTI’s unity, saying, “PTI is on the same page; we are all united and stand with our founder. We will take up this matter through moving a privilege motion in the National Assembly, to ascertain why our meeting was denied.”
