PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Ibrahim Khan has given the green light to the bail application of Omar Ayub, amidst a series of legal proceedings. The decision came after he was instructed to furnish a bond of one lakh rupees and to commit to appearing before the relevant courts within a month’s time.

Ayub is Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) nominated candidate for the prime minister spot. His bail approval follows a string of legal entanglements for Ayub, with a total of 23 cases filed against him, said the petitioner, another PTI leader, Babar Awan.
Among these cases, 13 are lodged in Rawalpindi, two in Islamabad, four in Lahore, three in Attock, and one in Gujranwala, Awan said.
Seeking respite, Awan pleaded for an eight-week window to resolve all the legal complexities surrounding him.
