ISLAMABAD: A joint team of Mianwali and Islamabad Police reportedly raided the residence of the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, in Islamabad on Sunday to arrest him in connection with an anti-terrorism case.
The development follows arrest warrants issued by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Sargodha for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General.
Omar Ayub confirmed in a statement on X that arrest warrants had been issued against him.
“Bailable arrest warrants were issued for me by ATC Sargodha, but Mianwali Police and Islamabad Police teams went to my Islamabad house to arrest me a few minutes ago,” he said.
