One killed, 15 injured as school bus from Sheikhupura falls into ditch near Shahdara Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A school bus carrying students from Sheikhupura to a picnic spot in Shahdara Islamabad, fell into a ditch on Saturday afternoon. One child was killed and 15 others were injured in the accident.

Police reported that the bus driver was standing on the side of the road, starting the engine, when the bus unexpectedly surged forward and plunged into the ditch. Injured students were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, with the condition of some described as critical.

A total of 39 students were on the coaster, all from Sheikhupura American Lycetuff School.

According to police sources, the identified deceased student is nineteen-year-old Hania.
