Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq continues in South Waziristan: security sources

Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq

Pakistan’s military has intensified its retaliatory operations along the Pak-Afghan border under the banner of Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq, targeting militant positions in the South Waziristan sector, according to security sources.

Officials said the Pakistan Army carried out coordinated strikes against positions held by the Afghan Taliban as well as elements described as Fitna al-Khawarij. The operation is part of an ongoing campaign aimed at neutralizing threats along the volatile border region.

Security sources claimed that multiple Afghan Taliban posts stretching from Shawal to Zarmalan in South Waziristan were “effectively destroyed” during the latest phase of the operation. The Shawal valley, long considered a strategic corridor for militant movement, has been a focal point of cross-border tensions.

According to officials, the intensity of the strikes forced militant fighters to retreat from their positions. The military has indicated that Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq will continue until all stated objectives are achieved, signaling the possibility of further escalation in the region.

While there has been no immediate response from the Afghan Taliban, the developments come amid ongoing security challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where both sides have repeatedly accused each other of harboring militant elements.
