Over two dozen Pakistani companies participate in Kabul Expo

KABUL: Over 25 leading Pakistani manufacturers participated in the Imam Abu Hanifa Exhibition in Kabul, Afghanistan, marking one of the largest participation in the event.

The opening ceremony was addressed by Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) who highlighted Pakistan’s role as the top trading partner of Afghanistan and expressed gratitude to the Afghan government for providing Pakistani exhibitors with excellent economic opportunities.

“Pakistan always attaches highest importance to its trade facilitation for Afghanistan,” he stated while adding that Pakistan is facilitating Afghanistan’s global trade through transit facilities and has granted significant tariff concessions on all Afghan fruit and vegetable exports to Pakistan.

He called on the Afghan government to adopt business-friendly investment policies to attract bilateral investors and to improve supply chain management so that Afghanistan’s business community could receive goods on time.

The exhibition is a result of a discussion in May during which foreign ministers of both countries deliberated on trade and connectivity as priority issues.
