How Pakistan Reached the Final?

Pakistan Shaheens booked their spot in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 final on Friday after edging Sri Lanka A by five runs in a nail-biting second semi-final.

Sri Lanka A, opting to field first, made early inroads by removing five key Pakistan wickets, putting the Shaheens under pressure. The early dismissals of Mohammad Naeem (16 off 15) and Maaz Sadaqat (23 off 11) left Pakistan’s top order struggling to settle.

However, the Green Shirts fought back strongly, stabilising their innings and eventually posting a competitive total before turning the game around with the ball.

Pakistan’s bowling attack rose to the occasion, piling immense pressure on the Sri Lankan lineup. Saad Masood and Sufyan Muqeem led the charge with three wickets each, while Ubaid Shah, Shahid Aziz and Ahmed Daniyal chipped in with a wicket apiece. Their collective effort sealed a hard-fought and well-deserved victory, securing Pakistan’s place in the tournament decider.
