PAK-W vs IND-W: National team struggle against archrivals in Women’s Asia Cup

DUBAI: Pakistan Women are struggling against India Women in their Women’s Asia Cup Group Stage clash, losing six wickets for 44 runs in the ongoing T20 match.

Earlier, the Pakistan women’s team opted to bat first, aiming to post a challenging total against their archrivals.

However, the national side has been unable to build momentum, with wickets falling at regular intervals as the Indian bowlers kept Pakistan’s batters under pressure.

The Indian bowlers dismissed key Pakistan batters, including Muneeba Ali, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Gull Feroza, Ayesha Zafar, Sadaf Shams and skipper Fatima Sana.

Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored for Pakistan with 14 runs, followed by Muneeba Ali with 13. Gull Feroza was dismissed for a duck, while Ayesha Zafar and Sadaf Shams contributed two and three runs, respectively.

India’s Shree Charani has been the pick of the bowlers so far, claiming three wickets, while Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma and Prema Rawat have taken one wicket each.

Pakistan Women are currently 44 for six, with Eyman Fatima and Umme Hani at the crease as they look to steady the innings and set a competitive total in the ninth match of the Women’s Asia Cup.
