Pakistan achieves 117% growth in cement export, prices decline in local market

ISLAMABAD: In an unexpected development, Pakistan has achieved a remarkable surge of 117% in cement exports during the first two months of the current fiscal year, compared to the same period last year.

According to industry statistics, Pakistan exported 1,175,000 tons of cement in July and August, representing a significant increase from the 541,000 tons exported during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

In August alone, Pakistan exported 725,000 tons of cement, marking an 87% growth compared to August of the previous year.

Pakistan’s cotton yarn exports skyrocket

Last year, Pakistan had exported 387,000 tons of cement in August. The month-on-month comparison between July and August shows an impressive 61% growth in cement exports.

In July, Pakistan recorded 450,000 tons of cement exports, which surged to 725,000 tons in August.

During the first two months of the current fiscal year, the country exported a total of 7,714,000 tons of cement, surpassing the 5,337,000 tons recorded during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Meanwhile, there has been a slight decline in cement prices locally. Cement, which was priced at Rs1,215 per 50-kilogram bag recently, is now being sold in the range of Rs1,200 to Rs1,205.
